This problem happens to a lot of people in Pakistan who do P2P trading, and there is a solution available that can get your account active again.

When your account is blocked because of P2P trading, you need to write and submit a good application letter to your bank branch, which will help get your account activated again.

Also, don’t worry about this: the money in your bank account is not going anywhere. You will get it back no matter what, so do not stress.

In today’s guide, I am going to explain how to write an application letter to your bank branch if your account was frozen due to P2P trading, so that your bank account can be unfrozen.

Why Banks Frozen Accounts on P2P Transactions

Before moving forward in the guide, it is very important to know why banks freeze your account because of P2P trading, because when you know the exact problem, finding its solution becomes very easy.

Many banks in Pakistan work under the strict Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) guidelines of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

This means that when you do P2P trading, payments come from different names, or the counter person’s account is already red-flagged in the bank’s view. The bank thinks that if the money came from such an account, maybe this account also belongs to that same user.

Or the bank thinks that maybe money laundering is happening, because when you do P2P trading in large quantities, the bank thinks you are doing money laundering. For these very reasons, the bank freezes your account.

Now, if you want to avoid this bank account problem and do P2P trading peacefully as much as you want without your bank account getting frozen, be sure to read our guide; everything is explained in it How to avoid bank account freeze during Binance P2P in Pakistan.

How to Unfreeze Your Bank Account Frozen Due to P2P — Step-by-Step Method

Now let’s talk about how to unfreeze your account if it has been frozen because of P2P. Below, I have explained the step-by-step method.

Step 1: Gather Information

Before writing an appeal to the bank, you need to collect information, which is also called evidence, so that the bank can understand your appeal properly in one go.

  • First of all, check whether the entire account is frozen or if only the debit or credit card is blocked.
  • Next, check if the person who sent the payment to your bank account complained to the bank themselves, saying they made a payment by mistake, or if they gave some other reason to the bank.

Once you find out both of these reasons, your work will become even easier, and your bank account will be unfreezed quickly.

  • If the bank account is completely frozen, go to your P2P history, see whose transaction was the last one, and save screenshots of the chat box.
  • Note down that person’s name, account number, and the time of the P2P trade.
  • And if you had opened a dispute on Binance, save that proof with you as well.

Once you collect all this information, follow Step 2 given below.

Step 2: Effective Appeal Letter Structure

A branch manager reads dozens of complaint letters a week. Your letter should be scannable, factual, and free of emotional language. Use this structure:

  • Subject Line: Keep it specific and searchable in their system: “Appeal for Reactivation of Account [Account Number] — Blocked Due to Flagged Transaction dated [DD/MM/YYYY]”
  • Opening Paragraph: State who you are, what your account number is, and when the block notice occurred. Keep this to just two or three sentences.
  • Explanation of Transaction: Explain in simple words that the flagged transaction is related to a legitimate peer-to-peer sale of digital assets through a regulated exchange platform, and you have the supporting documents for it. Avoid crypto jargon — use terms like “digital asset trading platform” instead of “P2P,” and do not assume the reader understands P2P terminology.
  • Evidence Reference: List the documents you are attaching, and match them with the transaction date and amount so that the manager can easily cross-check.
  • Request: Clearly state what you want: mobile banking reactivation, removal of the debit freeze, or a full account unblock — whichever is applicable.
  • Closing: Provide your contact number and availability for a branch visit or call, and thank the manager for their time.

Sample Appeal Letter Template for Bank Unfreeze

Below, I have written a complete template for you, which you can copy, fill in your details, and submit to the bank.

To,
The Branch Manager
[Bank Name], [Branch Name/Code]
[City]
Date: [DD/MM/YYYY]

Subject: Appeal for Reactivation of Account No. [XXXXXXXXXX] — Blocked Due to Flagged Transaction

Respected Sir/Madam,
I am writing as a valued customer of your branch holding account number [XXXXXXXXXX], registered under CNIC [XXXXX-XXXXXXX-X]. On [date], I noticed that my mobile banking / debit card / account access had been restricted, and upon inquiry I was informed that this was due to a transaction received on [date] amounting to PKR [amount].

I would like to clarify that this transaction was a legitimate payment received for the sale of digital assets through a licensed and internationally regulated trading platform, completed with a verified counterparty. I have attached supporting documentation, including transaction confirmation, platform verification details, and my recent bank statement, to demonstrate that this activity is consistent with lawful, personal financial dealings.

I kindly request your assistance in reviewing this case at the earliest and reactivating my account access, as this restriction is currently affecting my ability to manage routine financial matters. I am fully willing to provide any further clarification or documentation your compliance department may require.

I would appreciate a response at your earliest convenience and remain available at [phone number] for any queries.

Thank you for your time and cooperation.

Sincerely,
[Full Name]
[Account Number]
[Contact Number]

Step 3: How to Submit the Appeal

Submit the letter by visiting the branch where your account is in person, and always make sure to take a received copy stamped with the date and branch seal. This stamped copy serves as proof of your formal submission if you need to escalate it later. Where possible, also send a copy of the letter to the branch’s official email and the bank’s compliance/customer care email so that a digital trail exists.

Step 4: If the Branch Does Not Respond

According to SBP regulations, banks are required to respond to written complaints within a defined turnaround time (usually 10 working days for standard complaints). If there is no response:

  • Escalate internally within the bank: Write to the bank’s central Complaint Management/Compliance department, referencing your stamped branch copy and the date of submission.
  • File with the Banking Ombudsman Pakistan: If the bank does not resolve your complaint satisfactorily within 45 days, you can lodge a complaint with the Banking Ombudsman, which is an independent, free-of-cost body that mediates disputes between banks and customers.
  • State Bank of Pakistan Complaint Portal: For regulatory-level issues, SBP’s own complaint cell can be approached as a further escalation step.

Common Mistakes That Cause Appeals to Get Rejected

Let me tell you so that your submitted appeal does not get rejected; below are points detailing mistakes you should not make, otherwise your appeal could be rejected:

  • Using crypto slang that the manager won’t understand
  • Submitting without evidence
  • Using an emotional or threatening tone
  • Not keeping a stamped/dated copy
  • Ignoring the root cause

Conclusion

People who do P2P trading in Pakistan sometimes have their accounts frozen, but this is nothing to panic about. You just need to know the exact reason why the bank blocked the account. Once the reason is known, you can submit a good appeal letter to the bank and get your account unfreezed.
